2 Wheelers and Swimming Lessons!!

So while we were in Cranbrook Wyatt jumped on his cousins 2 wheeler and was doing pretty good on it. The plan was to get him a 2 wheeler for his birthday in January but we decided to try to find him a used one for now. It took him a couple of tries but within a week or so he was cruisin on that bike! I am so proud of him. It's a new milestone that he's reached and I can't believe how grown up he is! He's 3 1/2 and riding a big boy bike!!

Another milestone for Wyatt was his first swimming lessons. ( I put him in lessons last year in Cardston and he hated it and we didn't even go the second week so it doesn't count!) The main reason I wanted him in lessons was because he was scared of the water. He hated putting his face under and would cry and cry if we tried to get him to float. Well he loved lessons! He had a blast and adored his teacher. (His first crush) He even met a friend and they would hold hands. It was a ton a fun and I"m glad he had a great experience!

Jake's First Birthday!

Somebody had a BIRTHDAY!! Mr Jakey turned 1 last week.

For Jakey's party we just had a couple of friends over that were moving to BC that weekend. We kept it low key and casual as we were still pretty tired from our trip. I kindof feel bad because for Wyatt's birthday's we usually throw big parties. Oh well.... he'll get a big party for his 2nd Birthday! Here are some pics of our adorable

12 months old!

Mr. Jakey is 12 months old!

He weighs 21.8 pounds and is 30 inches long.

He has 8 teeth

He is down to 2 bottles and 2 naps a day

He loves finger foods and is starting to use a spoon

Since we have been home from Hawaii he has been sleeping 12 hours straight at night

He loves to wrestle and throw himself on others if they are on the floor

He plays strange (he didn't come to me for about 3 days after we got home from Hawaii)

He is walking. He started a few days before our trip and in the last three weeks he has practically started running. He can stand up in the midle of the room and pick up toys without falling

He loves to play outside. He can get on the toy cars and push them around. He also loves our water table and throwing balls around

He still adores his big brother (even when Wyatt knocks him down) He follows him everywhere and climbs on him whenever he can

He's in a big boy car seat. At first he really loved it but know i'm not too sure. He cries when he  gets in it

He favorite game to play is to take a ball and sit on the landing. He throws the ball down the stairs, laughs, then climbs down the stairs to get the ball, then does it all again

11 months old!

Mr. Jakey is 11 months old. For some reason that seems much older and bigger than 10 months old!?

Jake got 4 new teeth this month. 2 more on the bottom and 2 on top. This could easily explain why his sleeping has suddenly become very disturbed.
But daddy is still on Jakey duty so I rarely have to get up!
He loves to climb. (and has the bumps and bruises to prove it) He can go up and down the stairs. He can also climb up the ladder in the bathroom and climb on top of the kid's food table.

He loves to play with balls. He has figured out how to bounce them so they come back to him. He also loves to walk with the big push car. He can zoom in and around the kitchen and has really good balance. He can walk along the walls and furniture. And he can easily walk with us holding one hand. I'm hoping he'll be walking before we leave for Hawaii in 3 weeks!

He has started to show his frustration by throwing tantrums. He will throw himself down and cry in frustration if he loses a toy or if he can't reach a particular item. It's kindof funny to watch but I can't believe it's happening already.

He is still a bum/leg scooter. I don't think he will ever crawl the "regular" way. He gets going pretty fast and everyone who sees him do it thinks it's pretty funny.

Jakey still adores his brother and loves to have baths with him and play with him. Jakey loves to climb all over him and knock him over. Wyatt is usually pretty good at calling for us to come get him instead of pushing him off. Today Jakey climb up the ladder at the bathroom sink with Wyatt and they played in the water for a bit. I can already see the double trouble they're going to get into!

10 months old!

Mr. Jakey is 10 months old! He is getting so big and his personality is really starting to come through. He loves to laugh especially if you're laughing too. He still loves his daddy and has started to refuse to come to me if Wendell is holding him.

He still only has 2 teeth. He was sick this last weekend with a fever and I was kindof hoping he was teething. That boy needs more teeth to chew with!

He still loves REAL food (non of that baby food junk) and is slowly starting to eat applesauce which is a big deal in our house.

His hair is starting to get out of control. You can't tell by this picture but it's getting really long on top and behind his ears. Most days he can wear a mohawk and wings at the same time. Wendell won't let me cut it..... yet.

He has become such a little mover this month. He doesn't crawl on both knees. He has one leg out to push off of and kind of scoots/crawls. If he's upstairs you can hear him thumping along on the floor. It's too cute! He loves to stand and will do it whenever he can... espcially in the tub. He will pull himself up on furniture and move along it. He has also started letting go and will stand there for a few seconds before dropping. I think walking will be coming soon!!

9 months old!

9 months old already! Three more months until he's 1. YIKES!

Jakey is practically crawling and is everywhere and into everything. He pulls himself along on his tummy or gets up on his knees. He is starting to stand up in the tub and on furniture. He loves to follow Wyatt around and will climb all over him if he can.

He definitely has a favorite person. His mommy DADDY! (which is totally unfair) As soon as Wendell gets home from work he practically bounces up and down until Wendell picks him up. The other day Jake was sitting on the rug and had his back turned to the door. Wendell came home and started talking to Wyatt. Jakey literally whipped around and started hopping with the biggest grin on his face. He loves his daddy.

Jakey HATES baby food and applesauce. Wyatt practically lived off  both of those when he was a baby. I would try and mix some homemade food with store bought and he would have a bite and then refuse to eat it. I finally gave up the store bought food and have begun to just grind up whatever we are having for dinner. He is in heaven. He loves spaghetti, haystacks and soup! He is sleeping so much better again and I think it's because he's actually eating!

Somebody is FINALLY 3!

We celebrated Wyatt's 3rd Birthday last week. I was actually quite happy for him to turn 3. Whenever people would ask me how old he was I would say almost 3 because 2 just sounded too little for him. He was a very smart 2 year old so 3 fits him better. Of course I need to list some fun facts about him:

• He weighs 34.4 pounds and is 38 inches long.
• I call him Wy.
• He is on the verge of giving up naps. If he naps he goes to bed at 8:00pm and if he doesn't it's 7:00pm. (I prefer the 7:00pm as that's when Jakey goes to bed. I can't describe the feeling of having them both in bed and asleep at 7:05pm!)
• His favorite cartoons are Super Why and The Cat in the Hat. His favorite movies right now are Wall-E and Cars.
• He is fully potty trained and hasn't had an accident in months. He gets up at least once a  night to go potty or just to wake me up.
• He has learned his upper and lower case letters and can sing the alphabet 100% correct. He has also learned the sound that each letter makes. He can recognize  his name and is starting to learn to spell it. Right now it's W-Y-TTTT. We're getting there.
• He was 19 days short of going to Sunbeams this year. I would have really liked for him to go but he can wait another year. He loves going to Nursery and talks about it all Sunday morning . He loves singing time and his favorite songs are "I am a Child of God" and "Do as I'm doing."
• He has become a cuddle bug. He loves to lay in our bed with us in the mornings and watch cartoons.
• He is quite an active and outgoing child. He has a strong personality and can be quite stubborn. I have had to learn different ways of dealing with his stubborness. The biggest thing I've learned is to give him choices. He is learning very quickly that he can either listen or have a time out/lose a toy.
• He loves my IPod and DS. One of the older boys in my day home has a DS so in order to keep the peace I let Wyatt play with mine. He is actually getting pretty good at Mario. He also loves the games on my IPod. He has seen me use my IPhone 4S to set a timer so he walks around with my IPod saying, "Set timer for two minutes."
• He is starting to get frustrated with Jakey. Jakey is practically crawling and moving around a lot so that means he is all over Wyatt. I'm trying to teach him instead of pushing or hitting Jakey to call mommy to come and get him.
• He loves board games. His favorites are Candyland & Cranium Cariboo. (It's a great game that teaches colors, shapes, number,and letters. I highly recommend it.)
• He loves his cousins, grandparents, and aunts and uncles. Whenever we come home from seeing them he will talk about them for days.

Now for his actual birthday we surpised him with balloons first thing in the morning. This year was the first year he realized it was his birthday and was so excited. For days before his birthday he would tell us how we were going to sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him and he was going to blow out his candles.

We also had a birthday party with a few of our friends. Every year I get these great ideas of making an awesome cake and every year Wendell ends up doing it. I lack the confidence in myself and end up asking Wendell to do it. This year we Wendell made him a #3 monster truck cake. I think it turned out great!

8 months old!

The months seem to be going by so fast!! Here we go again..... Jakey is 8 months old!

Here are the basic facts: He weighs 20 pounds and is 28 inches long. He sleeps from 7:00pm-7:00am and gets up once for a bottle every night. He naps at 9am, 1pm, and sometimes 4:30pm. He eats solids at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. His favorite food is peas and any kind of finger foods. He drinks 6 oz every 3-4 hours. He has two bottom teeth.

Now on to the fun stuff! Jakey is really starting to get the hang of rolling all of the place and scooching along on his tummy and bum. He can go from sitting to his tummy, and then can move in circles once he gets there. I'm pretty sure it won't be too long before he's crawling.

He is still a good natured baby and is so easy going. He loves to smile at people and usually spends all of church staring at the people behind us waiting for them to look so he can smile at them. He adores his big brother and loves having baths with him.They just sit and splash at each other. I hope they will be good friends when they get older!

7 months old!

It's that time of the month again....well not THAT time of the month. But the time that I get to gush over my sweet, adorable, and happy 7 month old!

This last month has been pretty rough on my little guy. Not only did he have his 6 month immunizations but he also had another tooth come in, was weaned off of his soother, and him and Wyatt both contracted croup. I woke up one morning to two dogs barking down my hallway to later realize it was my sick little boys. Unfortunately there is not much you can do about it medication wise (which we learned at 2:00am at the Children's Hospital.) So we just had to wait it out and alternate between steamy showers, cold air, and Tylenol.

Jakey has become a great sleeper. We weaned him off of his soother about 3 weeks ago and since then he has either slept through the night or woken up once for a bottle. The first few naps/bed times after going cold turkey were a little rough but within a few days he didn't need it anymore and mommy and daddy are finally getting some sleep! Now if only Wyatt would sleep through the night too!!

6 months old!

Mr. Jakey turned 6 months old this week. We are halfway to 1!

I don't have his weight and height yet. We go for his 6 month shots next week so they will measure him there. He is definitely getting bigger and longer. Last week I put away a lot of his baby clothes and got out the 6-12 month box.

He has 1 tooth!! At 5 1/2 months I could see the tooth through his gums and within 2 days it broke through on the bottom. He did fairly well with teething and I'm sure the other tooth will come through soon.

He LOVES food. At a little over 5 months I noticed he would watch us intently and open his mouth whenever we were all eating at the table. I waited until he was about 5 1/2 months to start him on cereal. He absolutely loves it. He also loves those puffs and baby mums.

He has the sweetest personality. He is constantly laughing and watching all the boys. He loves when they get down on the floor and play with him.

5 months old!

Not MY Jakey! He's not 5 months old..right! He was born only a couple of weeks ago..... sigh!! This summer flew by so fast and in result my newborn baby turned into a rolling & almost sitting big baby!

Jakey is 15 pounds 3 ounces and is 25 1/2 inches long.

He loves loves loves to jump in his jolly jumper. We have entered the phase of him jumping in our laps whenever we hold him. He is getting really good at rolling. The first several times he rolled I missed it. I would look over at him and there he would be on his tummy. I finally saw him do it the other day so I know for sure Wyatt's not just rolling him over like he used too.

He loves his soother! He is a soother monkey. It's great when he's fussy but not so great in the middle of the night when we have to go put it back in his mouth!! He also loves his "Ralphie." It's a plush toy attached to a blanket. It's a puppy dog so we thought the name "Ralphie" was fitting. He loves to hold it up to his face when he's trying to go to sleep.

Happy 5 month Birthday Jakey! It feels like you've been in our family forever!

Wyatt - 32 months

It's time for an update on the big little man! Mr. Wyatt is 32 months old which translates into just over 2 1/2 which means he'll be 3 in January! 3!!! My little boy will be 3!! If it's true what they say about 3 year olds being harder than 2 year olds then I'm in trouble.

He is officially potty trained! (Except he still wears pull ups during naps and at night. Most of the time he wakes up dry!!) While I was in Florida my hubby started the ball rolling again and was working with him all week. The Monday after I got back I decided we were doing this and getting it done! By Monday morning @ 10:00am he was going to the potty on his own without me having to ask him. He has the occasional accident if he is outside playing or doesn't get to the potty in time! The other day I was walking into the bathroom and he told me to remember to put my pee pee down!! lol

He loves the ALPHABET! Thanks to SUPER WHY (or SUPER READERS as we like to call it) he has learned all his upper and lowercase letters. He is now learning the sounds of all his letters thanks to a LEAP FROG DVD. We do a lot of driving so I have found that educational dvd's in the car work great for him!

He is starting to show some interest in Jakey. We were at Costco the other day and the boys were in the shopping cart. Wyatt poked his head into Jakey's car seat and started giving him kisses. It was probably the cutest thing I have ever seen.

I started my day home again in the beginning of September so he has some play mates again. I have two 3 year old boys and he loves to play with them. He is usually the ring leader and they copy all the crazy stuff he does! He is such a busy boy. I love the saying, "Mother's of little boys work from SON up till SON down!"

4 Months Old!

It's amazing how fast another month has flown by. Mr Jakey is 4 months old tomorrow.

Daddy is taking him for his 4 months shots next week whileI am in Florida.

Jakey has almost mastered the roll. He arches his back and almost gets over. He can roll from his tummy to his back mostly because his big head weighs him down.

Jake is starting to sleep a lot better. He goes to bed at 7pm and we feed him before we go to bed. He will usually sleep until 4am and have a bottle. He goes back to sleep until about 7am.

Jakey is a sweetheart and he brings such a sweet spirit into our house. He was definitely sent to me because Heavenly Father knew I would need him in my life right now.

3 months old!

Jakey is 3 months old! He weighs 12 pounds 14 oz and is 25 inches long.

He is generally a happy baby and loves his little stuffed monkey. He still loves to swing and he likes it when I lay him on the floor and turn on the TV.

He is starting to eat on a regular schedule but at night he is still up at different times throughout the night. Luckily daddy is around now so I have some help.

He loves his hands. He is constantly sucking on them. I wish he would just suck his fingers instead of his soother!

He is really good in his car seat and will usually fall asleep right away. I'm a little worried about our long drive to Kelowna next week. Hopefully he will sleep most of the way.

He loves to give mommy smiles. He grins from ear to ear when we talk to him! It makes my heart melt every time.

2 months old!

Our little man is 2 MONTHS OLD!

He weighed 10 pounds 8 ounces and was 22 inches long at his last doctors appointment.

He has lost a lot of his hair on top of his head. He has a mohawk and then a solid chunk in the back. It's not as red anymore.

He got his 2 month shots yesterday and was not happy. He would randomly cry out throughout the day and then he was up all last night.

His first smiles were for daddy at church a few weeks ago. He loves it when mommy and especially grandma talk to him.

I am trying to get him on some sort of eating/sleeping schedule. Some nights he sleeps 4-5 hours and other nights he is up every 2!

He is starting to grab at toys and loves the swing.

Wyatt still keeps his distances but loves to give him his soother when Jakey is crying! (Or when he is stalling and doesn't want to go to bed!)

1 month old!

Our little JAKE OWEN is 1 month old today!

We love him so much that we don't care when he's up all...night....long!

Actually I can't complain too much. He's up about every three hours and Wendell still gives him a bottle every night.

His hair is still strawberry blonde and he has blue eyes. At his check up last week he weighed 9pds 3 ounces and was still 21inches.

Wyatt loves his little brother but from a distance. He will give him hugs and kisses when we ask but other than that he stays away from him.

I love to cuddle with him and it seems like the only time I get to do that is at night when daddy is home and he wants to cuddle with Jake too!

Life with Jake

Life since Jake's arrival has been busy! In the two weeks that he's been here we've been to Cardston twice, had two photoshoots (pics to come soon), had 4 doctors appointments and have been to Heritage park to see THOMAS. Let alone all the trips to the park and play group. It's true what they say, "Mother's of little boys work from SON up till SON down."

It's definitely a lot different having a new born this time around because I have a toddler running around. I thought that going from having 4 kids here because of my day home to having 2 would be a breeze but I was wrong. Wyatt is soooo bored! He's never really had to play by himself because there has always been kids here. I can't wait until we get him some

friends back here again!

Jake has been an amazing baby.....so far. He eats, sleeps, and poops like clockwork. He only wakes up twice a night and Wendell usually feeds him once. I know I have it pretty good!!

People still think he looks like Wyatt & Wendell but as he gets bigger I think he looks more and more like ME! I can't wait to see what he looks like as he gets older! I think it's only fair that one of my kids looks like me!

Jake Owen

Mr. Jake decided to come a whole week early!

THE STORY

• I started having contractions around 2:00 pm that afternoon that were 5 min apart. I called Wendell and asked him to come home just in case this was the real thing.
• The contractions continued and we finally left the house at 5:30pm when my day home children all went home. We dropped Wyatt off at a friends house and he got to have a sleep over there.
• We got to the hospital and when they checked me at 6:05 pm I was 9.5 cm. The nurse rushed from the room to go find me a bed in labor and delivery. When she returned with a team of nurses to take me to labor and delivery at 6:10pm my water broke.
• They wheeled my bed over to my delivery room and after a handful of puffs on the gas it was time to push! Baby Jake arrived at 6:44pm.
• It was quick but not easy. It was almost too quick for me. I felt like I didn't have any time to take it all in and absorb what was going one.
• But I am so happy he is finally here. He is an absolute doll. He looks a lot like Wendell & Wyatt but there are some differences. Jake has strawberry blonde/light brown hair and big blue eyes. I think he has my nose!

Baby Jake arrived April 26 at 6:44pm. He weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces and was 21 inches long.

We were able to go home after one night in the hospital and I was so happy to go home!

We love our little boys and are so excited to start living our new life!

I've been busy!

I feel like I've neglected my blogging lately! I haven't done any posts or even commented on your posts! I'm not ignoring you I promise!

The countdown is on until baby and I only have 8 weeks left! At 27 weeks I was measuring 30 and at 30 weeks I was measuring 34. They are sending me for an ultrasound in a few weeks to check on things! Other than that this pregnancy has been pretty smooth sailing. I've been trying to get things done now so I can relax the last month of pregnancy.

Here's my partially completed TO DO LIST!
1. Transition Wyatt to a BIG BOY BED

2. Organize Wyatt's clothes into new dresser, put up pictures

3. Clean out office/storage room so the baby will have a room

4. Move crib, rocking chair, and change table to baby room

5. Go through clothes bins

6. Paint kitchen, living room, stairs, and up stairs hallway
7. Paint baby's room

8. Get caught up with my scrap booking

9. Freezer Meals

10. Clean carpets, couches, and curtains,

11. Read through a few baby books again as a refresher

12. Get a manicure, pedicure, and massage

Keep in mind I have 4 little boys at my house every day so these projects are only getting done at night. I'm sure I am driving Wendell insane with all my little projects but I know we'll be glad when it's all finished.

We finally painted our house! Here are some before and after pictures. It is a brown color but it definitely looks different in different lights. It took me a while to get used to it but I really like it now! My hubby did it all in a day in a half!!

2nd Birthday Party for my 2 year old!!

In my family there are 7 grandchildren that have birthdays from Jan - March. Usually we have dinner at my moms and then let them open presents. But this year someone got the crazy idea to rent out the church and have a huge party! My sisters did an amazing job planning it and getting all the stuff! The kids had a lot of fun so I think we'll do it every year!!
